Anything Helps

Cowhide wallet, printed photographs, cardstock inserts

Bound by a cowhide leather pocket wallet, Anything Helps is a tactile collection of colorful, creative signs hand-drawn or even painted by homeless folks who had developed relationships with author Laura Russell. As she came to know the community of people living on the streets in her neighborhood, she developed a growing appreciation for the work and originality put into the signs held up by so many homeless people that attract the eyes of passerby's. The small book gives a voice to this community and brings their creative work to the forefront, expressing the various struggles that people face every day to survive and bringing attention to the vast needs of such a significant portion of the U.S. population.
